The Boeing 747 is recognisable by it's iconic 'hump' at the front of the fuselage. As the first 'wide-body' Jumbo Jet, it has made air travel what it is today. Many airlines have dozens of these planes. British Airways have so many that when you visit Heathrow, whilst taxing, you can see up to at least 5-10 BA 747's. It all started on a fishing trip with Boeing's boss and Pan Am's boss (Pan America - former name). Pan Am was 'taking off' in the air travel business. He needed big planes to travel further. Pan Am was the first to fly this Jumbo Jet.
